1. Introduction

Welcome to Aura. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our decentralized prediction market platform and services operated by Aura ("we," "us," or "our"). Our platform allows users to create, trade, and vote on the outcomes of prediction markets on the Alephium blockchain. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Definitions

  • Service refers to the Aura decentralized application (dApp), websites, and platforms operated by Aura, which enable users to create, participate in, and resolve prediction markets.
  • User ("you," "your") refers to the individual accessing or using the Service, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
  • Wallet refers to a cryptocurrency wallet that allows for the storage, transfer, and management of cryptocurrency assets, including but not limited to Alephium (ALPH) and $AURA tokens, on the Alephium blockchain.
  • Market refers to a prediction market created by a User on the Aura platform, concerning a future event with one or more potential outcomes.
  • Shares refer to a User's recorded interest in a particular outcome of a Market, as maintained within the smart contract for that Market. These shares represent a stake in the outcome and, if the prediction is correct, are redeemable for 1 Alephium (ALPH) coin each upon market resolution.

3. Use of Service

Our Service allows you to create, trade shares in, and vote on the outcomes of predictive markets on the Alephium blockchain. To use certain features, such as proposing markets, you may need to meet specific requirements, such as holding a minimum tier of staked $AURA tokens. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Wallet and private keys.
  • All activities that occur under your Wallet connection to the Service, including market creation, trading, and voting.
  • Understanding the risks associated with blockchain transactions, smart contracts, and participating in prediction markets, including the potential for loss of funds.
  • Paying any applicable fees, such as trading fees or deposits for market proposals, as detailed on the platform.
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
  • Providing accurate information when creating markets and understanding that market outcomes are determined by user proposals and community voting in case of disputes.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users, such as market questions and rules), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Aura and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Aura.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Aura, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service, including other users' market proposals or voting behavior;
  • Any content obtained from the Service, including information related to markets or their potential outcomes;
  • Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content;
  • Blockchain transaction failures, delays, smart contract vulnerabilities, or losses associated with your cryptocurrency assets;
  • The outcome of any prediction market or disputes related thereto.

6. Disclaimer

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

Aura, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that a) the Service will function uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location; b) any errors or defects will be corrected; c) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements or expectations. Aura does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any information on the Service or the outcome of any market.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Panama, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
